AFIII Full « appetite for destruction » album with axe 3

You remove even the painting or just nitro ? Do you have pics to the back of your neck ? A example .
i cannot imagine yet to use sand paper on it but just curious 😅
Just the nitro, but I wouldn't be opposed to removing color if necessary.

This is an Epi Explorer that I took down to the wood and then hit with Tru-oil. Super slick now and made a huge difference. You can see the rough line on the headstock where I stopped. I could have taped that to make the line nicer, but I didn't really care.

This is a Gibson that I roughly sanded, and never did anything else. I think it still has a lot of the finish left, but I used to just hit it with sandpaper before a gig to smooth it out. The color difference is part of the original finish and not from my sanding.

Unfinished/oil-finished, and even satin finishes are so much nicer to play that I doubt I'll ever buy another guitar with a nitro/sticky neck finish.

Same here I prefer satin and Unpainted neck etc but this is not a real criteria while buying a guitar . Then the neck stick a little bit but it’s not that important, you play the same on it
