Found this funny so I thought I would post it:

There was a guitar show this weekend in Merrick Long Island not too far from me. Only found about it last night so I grabbed my camera and went today. I did plan on posting some guitar porn for everybody; unfortunately I was having a problem with my camera body and lens communicating properly although I shot a fair amount before it got crowded. Didn’t look all that bad on the camera, but on my computer at home different story. Might doctor a few and put them out there anyway.

What was funny I was wearing a Fractal T-shirt, and keep in mind this show was allot of vintage guitars, custom builds, stomp boxes, tube amps and so on, the only thing digital there may have been a tuner. I was approached by 40-50 people within a 90 min or so period asking if I worked for Fractal and some asked if I had a booth set up. Even allot of the vendors asked if I worked for Fractal. But even after saying no, answered allot of questions for people who were very curios. The usual stuff “did you sell all your tube amp’s?” in my case I still have a Mesa Mark IV which I did play a few weeks ago and (enjoyed it) but before that it was over a year ago since I had played it. “If something had to go??” Well my Axe Fx would be staying. I could see were some of the older players were stunned by that answer, but since I have been playing for 35 years myself I think they put some stock in it. Allot of questions on cabinets to use, integration with a tube amp, 4 cable methods, Humbuster technology and some midi also. Also differences between Standard/Ultra/II. Cool part: of all the questions asked, I could answer them all (kind-a felt good). And some of the questions were more of a, what your goals are, and even then there are multiple ways to achieve it.

In an odd way was pretty surprised how nice everyone was, I was expecting a little jabbing from some tube snobs. Thinking this because you see so much of it on different forums. Which gets a bit insulting sometimes, when somebody states opinion as fact and of course their right, and everybody else is wrong.

The show itself was pretty cool, allot of pretty guitars old and new! Lots of good tones everywhere! Some very cool stomp boxes. In the amp world something to keep your eye on http://www.rocknrollamps.com these things have incredible tones just a sweet amp. Very tight bass, you can get the chug without the mud, the mid’s are very pleasing, and although the highs are bright & chime-e (if you desire) they are also nice and round and not fatiguing to the ear. Harmonically pleasing sum’s it up.
