Fractal Audio DRIVE models: Full OD (based on Fulltone Full-Drive 2)

compcut option was only on the mofset.

I wish the mofset was modeled.
This is not correct. The comp cut feature was introduced on the early orange models and continued through on all the following revisions. I am a collector of Fulldrives and the mosfet version was the worst sounding of all of them. 😁

All the comp cut does is remove the diodes from the circuit. You would be able to do this in Fractal world if the firmware allowed you to change the numbers of diodes to 0, however you can only go as low as 1. Taking out diodes is a very common tube screamer (and other overdrives) mod, not sure why Fractal has not included this option.

Dan I am wondering what you think the best sounding one was?
I have a 1998 blue non mosfet where the comp cut is on a pull volume. I actually bought another one which looks identical made in 2000 but does not sound as good am my original one. I thought that was weird. I also have the fd1 single channel which does not sound the same. Any thoughts?
I have yet to find a replacement for my original one which is great.

The description of the different versions linked below seems off. It shows the blue fd2.3 comp cut as having flat mids. Mine definitely have a mid hump.
I think the flat mids was a later version.
