Footswitches. Use 5150 amp channel switch on FM3?

Simple question. I have a 5150 LBX2 simple single button channel switch. Would the FM3 be able to use this as an external footswitch? I don't currently have an FM3 or I'd test it out.
 
When I plug the 5150 switch into my AX8, go to I/O, and calibrate, it switches between 0 and 1.00. (It's a latching footswitch).... so I'd assume it would work in the FM3 right?

Will latching footswitch be limiting in some way in the FM3?

I believe the main drawback to using a latching foot switch is that when you load a preset, it doesn’t read the current state of the footswitch. This means, depending on whether the switch is open or closed, you may have to hit the switch twice the first time you use it after loading a preset.
 
I’m not at my unit, but now that I think about it, it seems like they added an option for alternating values each time you hit the switch. So what I said before might be moot
