Footswitches Not Working- Short term fix for gig?

Had AX8 for 6 years; no issues until last gig (Outside 80F, direct sunlight), entire series of footswitches stopped working halfway through set. Cooled unit down however switches no longer work. Contacted Fractal and suggested may be ribbon cables and suggested taking somewhere local. I have gig Saturday and earliest appointment is Thursday and worried will not be fixed in time. Unit still works, but have to manually switch between patches and cannot turn effects on/off with switches. Any suggestions for gig to be operable?

you may be able to flip through scenes with an external switch to get by. you could use a couple of presets, one for lead, one for clean, and so on. i would pull the cover of and have a look at the cables. unplug and replug them and see what happens.
 
Opened the unit? I had a ribbon cable that had slid out of its slot once. Put it back in and worked. That was on the mfc-101 but I think the ax8 is connected in the same way.
