Agreed. Given DynaCab mic placement, 512 = 654,766,254 actual choices. Double that if you take into consideration two speakers per cab. I dare someone to ask me for the supporting math.I'm probably not alone saying that I'd take further enhancements if that meant losing user cab space. 512 is still a lot. Hell, 128 is plenty.
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. I have soooooo many user cabs, and I've hardly used the avalable space still. And I alway seem to be using the same IRs anyway.I'm probably not alone saying that I'd take further enhancements if that meant losing user cab space. 512 is still a lot. Hell, 128 is plenty.
The latter - from the release notes:Is the speculation on this (or maybe not so much speculation if I missed something) that User Cab space is being utilized to enhance the amp modeling? Or is this just to fit more Dyna Cabs?
Firmware updates rarely change ANY setting in presets, and those are typically only advanced settings.Guys, I finally downloaded (FW 11) last week and I did not like it. In a way, it sounds like it killed all of my tones. It's almost like a blanket covered over my speakers. All of my GAINs went from 10 to 5. If you try to increase Gain and/or Overdrive, it would immediately gets into "flubby" world. 2nd, I also noticed, the tones on the high frequencies (800 hz - 1.5khz) are gone (or at least, went down a lot). I thought that my daughter was playing around with my cables...and I even tried using a few other good cables and they still sounded bad. I had to reinstalled FW 11 three times and nothing changed. At the last resort, I had to reset everything back to Factory Manufacturer presets. From there, I had to reinstall back to FW 10. With my experience, FW 11 screwed up my tones. I don't know if anyone else have any issues, but I did not like it. I'm staying with Firmware 10 right now. At least I know, my FW 10 sounds fantastic. Can someone else confirm this? Or is it just me?
Yeah....I don't believe it should change, as well, but they changed mine (installed 3 times). I browsed and played a few common Presets (JCM 800, JVM, Mk IV / IIC+, etc.), they are no longer the ones I created or used from the Presets. Hmmmm....thanks confirming this. Whatever it happened (3x), I think I'm going to wait for the next FW. And no....nothing in the Global section and all cab modeling setting had not changed anything. The only changed was the sound/tone itself. It's very weird. I'm very particular about my sound in the GAIN and OVERDRIVE section if something changed -which it did for me. However, can't afford going be "MIA" again when I needed. Lol. Thanks confirming this, guys.Firmware updates rarely change ANY setting in presets, and those are typically only advanced settings.
It definitely did not change the gain related settings.
Perhaps the global Power Amp or Cab modeling settings got disabled? Resetting factory settings would turn them back on.
No, I didn't checked the impedance though. I don't believe the impedance would change the sound/tone overall, right? - unless I or FW 11 did it (which I don't believe that's the case). Lol. My first question was my 2 years old daughter; she's probably the culprit, but then I realized, my FM9 is not available to sit around for her (or anyone) to play. It's locked and inside in a wired-cage. So when I updated FW 11, I did not tested anything until the next day. This is how I found out, the sound's different. Don't get me wrong, it still sounds decently'ish, BUT I do know the small things in the sound/tones in the "Gain and Overdrive" sections, and they definitely changed my tones for sure. Whatever it did, it changed my tones enough to be annoyed. However, I already reset my FM9 back to the factory though. Now I'm back to FW 10. Thanks asking. I appreciated.Did you check the input impedance? Maybe something changed that?

I think FracTool can do that...Is there a utility that can scan my FM9, and export a list of user cabs and their associated presets?
If you don't have too many presets (and even if you do) you might want to take the time and do this one by one. I tried about a month ago pulling the lists for both FM3 and FM9 and results weren't entirely accurate. Lists showed for example some factory presets I have never touched as using IRs in User slots. I fear the opposite could also happen where you have a preset using IR in user slot and not showing on Fractool generated list.Nice! I will have to take a look at that. I figured it was just for converting presets between different devices. If it works, it'll be my new best friend![]()

If you’re using the noise gate in the Input Block, check it to make sure it’s not causing chattering. Turn it all the way off, counterclockwise, and see if it stops.Anybody getting crackling across a lot of presets, like when you're holding a cord out, you hear crackling and the background.
Also, if you have a compressor, turn it off to see if it stops. Check the input and output leds/meters for clipping. Does anything of all these things help in any way?If you’re using the noise gate in the Input Block, check it to make sure it’s not causing chattering.
