FM9 Firmware Version 10.0

I experienced this too but I think it has to do with the restructuring of the preamp per the release notes. Less "fizz" probably. Maybe? Not even close?

I'm experiencing a visible lag between scene changes. The audio changes immediately, but the button light seems to take a second to catch up. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have a first version fm9, not turbo. Nevermind... I think I was just exceeding the cpu dangit!
I was getting the exact same symptoms when I installed fw10 on my non-turbo FM9. When I would change scenes while playing, I'd get the lag on the foot switch light, but the audio/sound for the new scene still switched instantly. As soon as I stopped playing, the foot switch light would change to which ever scene I switched to.

I use mostly kitchen sink type presets that were running at around 77 to 78% cpu. As soon as I got it down to 76% that seemed to be the max cpu I could use to get 'normal' foot switch response. YMMV

As these new firmware updates get more and more cpu hungry, I'm going to have to rethink and adjust as needed. This was the first firmware update in a while where I needed to make some cpu reduction edits. For me, the sound is worth it. It's hard to imagine things sounding better because they sound so good, but Fractal always seems to find a way to push the envelope. I am here for all of that.

A new MacBook Pro arrived to replace the dead! Attempting to update firmware from version 8.0 to 10 and DynaCabs. Read release notes and questioning need to find and install older firmware and DynaCab versions before the current updates (9.0 Firmware notes in updates before installation)?
Someone's insight would be greatly appreciated!

All firmware versions are independent.

There's no need to install in any order.

As Unix said.. no need BUT if you wish https://archive.axefx.fr/ has everything you could possibly ask for

Yes, I had this problem on my main preset and it was hovering at 78%. Changing the compressor type, and removing two blocks fixed it but it sucks that compromises need to be made now that the unit is overloading the CPU at just under 80%...
I went from FW8 to 10...

I am noticing more latency with the Guardian Photon Speed than other drives, resulting in a big shift in feel. Anyone else feeling it?

Turns out whammy was on, which always adds a little latency. The good news is that I didn't immediately realize it was on because it sounds much better in v10!

Sorry, late to the party but I had some rehearsals and gigs so didn't update till now. Updating process was smooth and new firmware is much better than beta. The cpu % required for pitch block is way lower and FM9T works flawlessly.
Didn't notice any decrease in amp gain, I'm using JM45, IIC+ and 5153 in my presets, maybe... a 'more defined' feeling?
Very happy with the sound! thanks Fractal!

I suspect the "more defined feeling" you mentioned might be the less gain observation that some are experiencing.

Resisted the urge to update Saturday morning before gig, but did it yesterday and all good. I have only checked one preset, and the Deliverance Less model definitely has less gain at the same settings but I'm not complaining

Still sounds killer and perhaps more natural - having never played the real thing all I can say is I'm happy! Happy Thanksgiving to all the fellow Canadians here 🦃

Just being extra cautious here. I'm updating from FW7, so clearly I don't do this a lot. Do I update the Dyna-Cabs before or after the FW, or doesn't it matter?

After. FW first, then DynaCabs. You will get an error after your install FW and start up FM9. Then install DynaCabs, follow prompts, etc. Boom done. I suggest reading the FW release notes and install instructions. They are gold.

I read them all several times before posting. Read them again and found the order mentioned in the Dyna-Cab Installation Guide. Maybe I was overcaffeinated.

Fractal Bot is spitting a No Response Received error at me during the FW data transfer ranging from the 3% to 50% progress point. I've never had any issues with the communications between the FM9 and my PC. Any thoughts or workarounds for this? I've tried at least 20 times. After the failure, the FM9 continues to display the "Updating DSP Firmware" screen.
