FM9 Factory Presets version 9.x Release

Does anyone have any tips on dealing with the Pitch block for the virtual capo? I love fractal but this feels unusable to me. The latency is out of control - no setting makes it feel 'good' under the fingers. For context, I am playing riff style music - lots of power chords, changes, etc.
Maybe a separate thread? Seems unrelated to Factory Presets, which is what this thread is about...

One more question from a newby: is there any Dyna Cabs included, or you have to buy them separately? After the 9.0 update - I don't see anything in DynaCab section... (didn't check before if there were any)
Thanks in advance for advise!

There are a number of factory DynaCabs installed on your unit and the latest firmware added a new one.

Presets don't add DynaCabs and there's no "section". In the Cab block you need to select either Legacy or DynaCab.

Please help me out here. I'm really getting frustrated. The Destructive Appetities preset for Slash on Preset 9.0 sounds nothing like Edo playing Slash on the FM9 , in terms of tone not performance, even though I'm using a Slash GB LP Standard, an FM9, and Redsound Elis 8 FRFR Speaker pair cabinets.

So explain to me why am I not getting the same sweet sustain tone? The notes sound harsh even on FW 9.0.

I don't quite get it. And before anyone says no one sounds like Slash overnight I'm not talking about the quality of my performance or whether I even play 3 notes properly. I am talking about playing a SINGLE note and why it doesn't have the sweet sustain of the SINGLE note played by Edo when he performed Slash. It might have sustain but it is HARSH.

I am wondering now was Edo using a LP with different pickups than mine? Was he plugged into a TUBE marshall amp? If so what type? Could it be the difference if not in the FM9 , FW, or presets lies in the PUPS and AMP?

Maybe my Slash GB LP Pups are completely different sounding and my RS Elis 8 is completely different sounding?

How come even on FW 9.0 I can't get the same Slash tone?

When it comes to U2 I nail the tone on my equipment by Edo even though my PUPS are different than his, and I'm using the RS Elis 8. How come I don't nail the tone with Slash on Destructive Appetites in the same manner?

Do trust me when I say I'm no expert on the unit - especially compared to some of the geniuses on this forum - but I noticed my Strat and Les Paul presets (my own, not factory presets) sounded a bit "harsh and trebly" and initially I couldn't work out why... then I noticed that the Marshall amps I was using (Plexis) all seemed to have the "Bright" switch set to "On" by default. I switched the "Bright" switch off and the presets instantly sounded warmer and less "harsh and trebly". Again, I am no source for an 'expert' answer - and I'm sure many will use the "Bright" switch "On" to great effect, but for my very basic presets: Wah; Drive; Phaser/ Vibe; Chorus; Rotary; Delay; and Reverb, there was a noticeable drop in "harshness" once I ditched the "Bright" effect.

This is an old thread on old Firmware. The G&R factory presets sound fabulous on FW 9.01.

The Pitch block has noticeable latency. It's been like this for a while now. Not sure if there's a fix.

Hey on the previews presets there was one that recreated the Boss CE-1 chorus but I'm not finding it on the new presets, did it changed name? @Admin M@

I forget who asked for some of these things but here they are:

• Someone wanted a Mark V preset. Find it at 113. (The preset "Chainsaw 88" was moved to a scene inside of "Solo 88")
• Someone wanted to know what happened to the CE-1 example. That style of split chorus appears in the new "Jazz 120" preset at 098. The duplicate Tucana preset was replaced.
• Andy Wood sent a new Lead preset. Find it at 148. Thanks Andy!
@Burgs re-did The Brown Sound with a very cool treatment for the UFO landing.
• Special thanks to @yek for his detailed comparison across products, which revealed a few special opportunities to improve some of these.
• "And more!"
It got moved under the Jazz 120 preset on the new Axe-FX III presets...maybe the same on the FM9?
