FM9 Case?

I just bought this pedallboard and bag below to mount my FM9 and Volume pedal on a stealth board (I hate setting up stuff separately), and it comes with a bag that is pretty good for the price (Im cheap about this extra stuff). Not much protection but enough for me (I have SKB and other cases I could use if needed but they are bigger and heavier). The only thing I had to do is remove the front feet of the pedalboard, and flip the board around so the no feet part faces me for the slant, as they were to tall to easily close the bag over the FM9 . I will probably cut the feet down later. Fits good and easy to transport wit ha few accessories.

The Pelican Air 1745 was just a little too big for me unfortunately, I decided to return it! For those interested though the Duo 34 did fit in there with no issues.

Anyone have any luck with the Nanuk 985 at all? The depth is a little less but it is 152mm over all with the lid. I'm wondering if it will shut properly?

I have a fairly large pedalboard and this arrived today, very happy with this & shaping out the foam took about 4 min since it's already perforated
Board size is 28x13. This specific model Pelican fits like a glove with room for cables etc.

Using the Temple Duo 24. Going to try and get away with the 1595 air, but in the end may end up w the 1615. Every pound counts lol!

Just received a Deluxe Studio Slips bag.. if this is double-padding I'd hate to see what single padding is. It's hard to tell, but it sure doesn't seem like 5/8" worth of padding - even uncompressed, I can compress it down to probably 1-2mm. The construction seems top-shelf, but I was expecting a tighter/snugger fit. I've owned clamshells in the past for a head and cabinet, and the padding in them seemed more robust (going off memory as I don't own them any longer). It's definitely not as thick as the soft case of my Mono pedalboard.

Would absolutely not buy again at $235. I think might look start looking into hard-case options.
I figured I should revisit this post.

Last year Studio Slips was gracious enough to offer a full refund after my initial dissatisfaction - I decided to keep it as I really liked the idea of a soft case and decided to try it out. I've 2/3 other modelers that I gig with so this one saw maybe 6-7 shows in the last year. It's held up well with no issues. Tonight I gigged the FM9 and it took a fall (sitting in the SS bag) from the top of a monitor/wedge sitting vertically, maybe 28" or so. Not sure exactly where the impact point was - but after getting it home and inspecting it, it seems no worse for the wear - it fired up and played just fine. The bumpers on the FM9 and the padding in the Studio Slips bag seemed to have alleviated any damage from the fall.

I've enjoyed using SS bags and clamshells for a long time - it's good to know the FM9 deluxe bag seems to be a perfect mix of portability and protection. I would have to give the bag a 'recommended' rating at this time, even at it's price point.

If you’re looking for a durable soft bag and don’t mind using a competitors product, the Line 6 Helix backpack/gig bag works great with the FM9. I originally used a Helix and lugged it around practices and shows with no problems and I could fit the modeler, extra foot switches, an expression's pedal and all my cables and other junk inside it.

I eventually started using a SD Powerstage 200 solid state amp and there was even a spot for that to fit just perfectly snug in the top, zippered compartment. It’s like they knew I’d be using that. The bag has a handle on the top as well as one on the side making it easy to carry or you can wear it as a backpack which is something I’ve never tried.

I eventually moved to the Axe Fx 3 and then the FM9 and rather than drop an additional couple of hundred bucks on a case specific to the FM9, I just repurposed the bag for my Fractal gear. It’s held up great and the FM9 fits nicely into the compartment. I don’t think there’s too much difference in size between the Helix and the FM9. The FM9 is slightly smaller but you’d never know that the bag wasn’t made for it.

I own several Studio Slips clamshell bags for some of my amp heads and they are a quality product. You can’t go wrong with them but if you want something off the shelf , then check out the Line 6 bag.

Glad to see this and happy that your FM9 survived the fall. Great unit.

I’ve been using Studio Slips clamshells and dust covers for my combos and amp heads for decades. Well designed and constructed. Highly recommended from my camp, too.
