FM3 into amp, post effects only - how difficult to get results?

Rehearsal tomorrow and hoping to setup an FM3 for effects only in my amp’s loop (Friedman BE50 Deluxe). Really thinking I only need ‘80s delay, Chorus, reverb and EQ boost for lead. I’ve watched Leon Todd’s 4CM video, and while I’m only starting with 2 cables, is it as simple to get started as he suggests?

And is it difficult to set unity gain across effects?

You don’t need 4CM to do this, just run the amps loop send to an input on the FM3, and the output into the loop return. Everything you add in the FM3 will be after your amps preamp.
