FM3 for Effects/4CM

Hi, I wanted to downsize my rig because I'm mostly a home player now and didn't need the full capabilities of the Axe FX III (sold it). My question is: is there anyone out there who uses the FM3 strictly as an effects unit in a 4CM setup with a real amp? Do you run up the CPU easily by just using things like compression, boost/OD, reverb, delay, pitch, and maybe one more block? Also, if I decide to use it as a modeler and add an amp block to the above-mentioned setup, does it run the CPU up really quickly. I never use IR's because I prefer a real cab with a solid state poweramp when using it as a modeler. Thanks for your help.

I run mine like this sometimes and it's incredible for it. Plenty of CPU since you're not having to run amp/cab blocks (although using an amp block to replace the amp's preamp is super fun too).
