FM3 Firmware Version 9.02 public beta (3)

The initial FM3 waitlist and rollout was epic and extended, due in part to timing of the announcement and waitlist (and physical introduction at Boston’s AxeFEst) long before the actual release, which was further excaberated by manufacturing snafus (I am still a proud owner of a headphone-jackless model)
Ahh, I see. This goes back by years then.

I played two days with beta 9.02 (3) and designed a (wonderful) 82%CPU live rig setup for my dual outputs Chapman Stick. Now, on day 3, the FM3 Turbo, boots up with the knobs and switches completely unresponsive. FM Edit can not make contact. There is sound though, and external CV pedal moves are executed as expected.

As someone reported above, I too am using a filter block.

I need that filter block so I will return to the previous firmware now.

Anything over 80% won’t be reliable. Leave some room. Especially if you’re gigging. The gapless switching works good so what I do is have 2 versions of the same amp cab combo. One for the Plex and another for the multi delay or rotary in my case. If you really need it all in one preset then you should consider upgrading.

This is in the latest AxeFX III beta, and I hope it makes it to the final 9.0x version for the FM3. This is huge for the way I use the Plex block. I can wait a little longer, but 9.0x has been in Beta for four months. That's not normal for Fractal.

Improved behavior of Plex and Multitap Delay blocks when changing channels or presets. If the type has changed the delay lines are cleared. If the type has not changed the delay lines are not cleared allowing for spillover between channels. If Spillover is on, the delay lines are not cleared between preset changes if the type has not changed.
I predict we won’t see a Final 9.0X but rather a 10.0 release with updated presets :-)

Heard Baergs playing the mini JCM800........now I am jonesin for new FW !!!!

Maybe it’s been written somewhere before, but what does the DS1 second edition mean? Is it the version with the second IC chip from 1979?

Axe Fx III went from 27 beta to 28... So it wouldn't surprise me.
Looking through the release notes, for every version X.00 released it involved either new or updated amp modeling, except that 7.00 was due to introducing Dynacabs with just one or two improvements to the amp modeling.

Interestingly there's not a comparable thread of FW releases for the III that I could see. For instance you have "FM3 Discussion" > "FM3 Firmware Releases" and it's a closed thread with just postings of all the releases with notes. I didn't see that in the III area.

Look at the 27.04 beta release notes.

Look at the 28.00 release notes.

You'll see a large section repeated.

There was a change to the Amp block triode modeling added among many other improvements but not sure if this is the reason.

I think it was really driven by the major Compressor block changes.

You only get those IF you download the release (the accumulated changes). The thread for the 3 I refer to documents the changes for ready reference. I'm not a III user so I'm not going to download the release just to read the notes. Kinda figured all the platforms areas would be somewhat standardized.
The wiki has Release Notes for all release versions of every devices firmware.

Since I updated, I notice that the ODS CLEAN 100 amp has completely changed.. the sound has changed and a lot of highs have been added to it.. does anyone else have this problem?

I like reading the III release notes to see what may be coming to the FM3. Hoping Cliff can squeeze it all in to the little guy. Sounds like the triode changes were rolled out prematurely.
