FM3 Firmware Version 9.01

So, updated my FM3 (1st gen) to the 9.01 firmware and the freezing still happens...

Guitar connected directly to FM3.
Roland FC300 as MIDI controller.
FM3-EDIT updated to latest version.
All DynaCabs updated.

I'm using the computer (Windows11, home edition) to simultaneously create and test the presets I'm building. I'm sending FM3's OUT1 into my audio interface.

... the freeze... is still there. It freezes during play/performance, or during parameters editing. I'm at 65% CPU, far behind the red line. To unfreeze, I'm forced to shut down, wait a about 10 seconds (or more, just for the sake of it), and then turn it back on again... lets fix this, shall we?

Does this happen only with 9.01?

If so then it's potentially relevant to this thread.

If not, it's best to open a separate thread or contact support.

That's normal:
o Added activity sensing to internal pedals, FC pedals and external controllers. This stops Auto-Engage from activating an effect if the pedal/controller is not connected. This prevents, for example, a Wah being engaged if Auto-Engage is on but no pedal is connected (i.e., you left your expression pedal at home).
Thanks for that confirmation! Having to swipe the pedal a few times is a minor inconvenience at worst. Weirdly, I never had an issue with it auto-engaging before with the pedal disconnected. I'm guessing I must have lucked into saving scenes with the wah off every time... or something.

Finally got a chance to give 9.01 a workout. All the additions and improvements to the filter block are excellent.Tuner is definitely responding faster and accurate. I like the Magenta color scheme. Basically everything seems much faster and smooth. I need to spend more time on the pitch block and improvements. I ended up playing for hours just with the filter block effects (touch wah, autowah, etc.) Definitely a worthwhile F/W update.

Does the activity sensing apply when a pedal has been subsequently disconnected?

This.
Just this worth it. I have 2 differents presets for the same band, one with the wah and one without and change it depends of the set list. With this, you made my life easier.
Thank you !!

FYI I just updated to 9.01 and my expression pedal stopped working as it had defaulted back to a foot switch, had to reconfigure both expression pedal and 2nd foot switch to get working again.

the Presets Bank Up and Down are not working right after updating, I'm getting duplicated presets on empty presets constantly.

EDIT: I had to manually edit my Presets Layout as the update had put banks in 3's not 6!

definitely gapless switching has gone from the FM3 for me. I've dragged all the presets in, (so the preset numbers aren't inverted) switched the unit on/off a dozen times, made sure Gapless and Spillover are on, but there's now a gap between the presets and scenes.

EDIT: I'm having to manually save every single preset to enable gapless. overwriting with my old presets didn't work for me.

When in tuner, press page right on unit to access tuner configuration. It gives you options to change colour of tuner. It also changes the colour of the mini tuner too.
Awesome thank you !
Mine was Cyan and change to blue and like it even more now !

We should have the footswitch to change color to have the same as the screen now ^^

Is anyone else seeing the text on the mini-displays getting mis-aligned? The first two displays were doing it and after rebooting it was back to normal. After playing a bit and scrolling through various presets I noticed the middle one is now misaligned. Another reboot and all clear. Since the, I have not been able to reproduce this and don't know what triggered it. But it happened twice so I thought I would report it.

Mine was doing that too, after lots of editing and preset scrolling (connected to FM3 Edit). A reboot fixed it.
