Your information is not consistent. It must be, to help solve the issue.

In post 166 you write that Return Level in the Return block is maxed out.
In post 171 you write that Return Level is at 0dB.
That's not the same.

In post 164 you write that the block after RETURN is AMP.
But that doesn't correspond with the picture of the layout grid where the blocks after RETURN are parallel blocks, which you say are MTD and Reverb.
I'm away from the unit. I've sent the preset file already. sorry if i don't remember by heart all the settings. I'm trying to help but please understand that my time for playing is limited.
also this happened yesterday as i was preparing a bunch of new presets but is not consistent.

here's the chain in post 164

input 1 -> drive1 -> send 1 -> ret 1 -> amp -> cab-> Rev//multitap dly -> chorus -> out1

yes is wrong sorry the send/return is before the amp

input 1 -> drive1 -> amp -> cab -> send 1 -> ret 1 -> Rev//multitap dly -> chorus -> out1

maybe is me creating feedback. i don't know. if someone else had this please feel free to jump in

I tried the surround delay with cans on........was underwhel,ming. I am probably not doing something right. Is there a preset demonstarting this new effecrt available ?

Maybe your expectations are too high. A monitoring system that places sounds precisely isn’t something most people really have, and while I’m not entirely sure how the front-back placement is implemented here, the traditional solutions have limited effect.

I mean, it’s not like you’ll get Dolby Atmos experience from a pair of regular headphones.

i just tried it with my studio monitors, definitely get the rotation thing going on, really cool stuff, I didn't have any expectations going into it though

I would have thought it's even more apparent with headphones

This helps explain a bit. Part of me thinks headphones may actually diminish the effect depending on how it is set vs. higher powered live sound with a proper physical spread.

Dunno about high power live sound (it's not even stereo a lot of times), but typically you need a well tuned pair of speakers and a decent room to hear this kind of stuff reliably.

I don't think I can really ever hear this in headphones.

Notice “higher” and not “high”. Otherwise I meant the same, a proper space with sound system to give an effective spread. It may not be stereo (which is a figment of our human hearing) but it is most certainly creating a stereo field much of the time. Really has a lot to do with how it is set. To me this is an atmospheric effect and not so much a solo enhancing effect or whatever. I guess I mean the faster you play the less it will be worth much compared to a regular mono delay.

I think @Paul Bradshaw video demo clears things.

Please be more constructive in your comments. This thread is for beta testers. So you’ll need to describe what you are hearing that is worse, help narrow it down to specific blocks or settings that you think changed ? Maybe provide a sound example and a preset if it’s specific to a preset.

Sound was harsh and muddy at the same time. I reinstalled firmware and now it's all right.

Coming from the Atomic Amplifire 12 platform, this firmware upgrade pace is very refreshing. I've only had my FM3 a few weeks and already I have moved from FW 10 to 11 and now to a public beta of 12, All with some upgrades/changes in things that I have actually used. Plus FM3-Edit works on Mac OS Tahoe and I don't have to use a separate windows machine solely for the purpose of supporting a web based editor that doesn't crash repeatedly. I'm really enjoying the Fractal world so far!
