Since there are blocks on the Axe Fx III that aren't on the FM3, I'd say it's not identical

It's a silly little trick I figured out by accident. In FM3 edit or Axe-Fx Edit III if you go to preferences it shows the expected Axe-Fx midi device name. Now typically the real FM3 or Axe-Fx III would connect automatically utilizing Sysex Midi communication via the USB connection. However, if you create an IAC midi bus in the Mac OS Audio Midi Setup and name it identical to whatever FM3 editor expects, it effectively tricks and fakes having the device connected. Now of course it doesn't actually allow you to create or load presets but it does unlock that blocks screen and a few other screens. Hence also why it shows firmware version 28.119 .

Also true I should have clarified that its identical in appearance but of course is missing a few of the Axe III's blocks.
