FM3 as home studio centerpiece?

So what ya'll saying is, that I wouldn't be able to do that with the FM3?
That is, recording through USB with it doesn't work very well, because it has a lack of CPU? Quite a bummer.

USB recording issues are not related to lacking cpu.

In my case, recording with reaper, the latency is now almost imperceptible running 1.04

I was originally planning to do the same thing and use the FM3 as my sole interface but decided against it for the main reasons that:

I dont want my FM3 running for many hours at a time when im only using it for audio playback, say if im doing non music related PC stuff or other family members are using the computer.

I have a non H/P jack version so need interface for silent playing/monitoring.

I ended up get a MOTU M4 and so far is working out perfect.
