Floyd Rose for Fender Upgrade Help

I have a friend who has a MIM Fender strat about 2 years old.
Since new, the high E string would slip out of its locking block on occasion.
I looked at it for him and I couldn't find anything wrong with it with a strong magnifying glass.
I took the saddle apart and cleaned it.
I made sure he wasn't making the locking screw too loose or tight.
I believe the model is called FR Special.

He is looking to upgrade from the Special to the 1000 Series Original Style Tremolo System for about $160.
Do you know if this is a higher quality model?
Any other thoughts?

I have a MIM Fender with FR and had exactly that problem.

I completely solved it with a Guyker SS saddle set (Amazon). It was not that easy to install, even though all the screw holes on the Fender FR are clearly metric, they did not fit the screws from the Guyker without widening them with the proper M3 and M5 tap/die set.

Here is a picture with just one of the SS saddles installed yet:

I actually also tried the Gotoh 1996 on that guitar, but didn't like the outcome. I sold the Gotoh and did the saddle solution mentioned above.
 
My friend is wanting to stay with the FR brand.
@Andy Eagle do you have any thoughts on the quality difference between the FR Special and the FR 1000 series?
