I have several guitars that use floating bridges with wooden bases. Never had any problems. Some have pins, one is double stick tape but the others don't have either. I usually use 11s on those guitars and even with a Bigsby the bridge stays in place. When I change strings I use blue masking tape to temporarily keep the wooden base in place.
