Are you following the instructions as enclosed in the folder? This is substantially different than than installing the Ares firmware.,,or reference the video by @chris in the original thread.

never seen the original thread, just read the PDF - gonna go throught e extra steps. This is my ifrst USB firmware update and did not know the bot needs additional steps. Thanks @bradlake

Also, double check the firmware version even after you get the error message ....

I was getting the same message, but when I checked the version my Axe III was running .... Lo and behold it was 1.08 ....

I guess the update was successful even though I got the error ?!?
