First Steps Recording with the Axe II

Hi everybody,
I want to start my first recordings with the Axe II, so I need some advice:

Would you record the processed track or better the dry guitar signal and later reamp it with the usb-feature of the axe? Does that work or are there some latency problems?
With drum machin would you recommend? Addictive Drums or Superior Drummer or EZ-Drummer which one is best ?

Thanks for your help

I use a DI box and record the straight signal using a preamp like the Avalon Vt 737 sp tube pre flat, bit any good preamp would be fine.

I don't like recording with Fx's because when you 're mixing the final product it limits you and it might not fit once you have drums and bass.
For re amping it's better to use a radial box, they have many models at different price ranges.
For drums I like Steven Slate drums 4, but there are others that are great like the ones you mention.
