First Attempt at Using Axe-FX III as Interface - Issues

I've decided to try using my Axe-FX as my interface, connecting my studio monitors to Output 2, controlling that with Out 2 and controlling my headphones with Out 1.

I am getting no sound out of Out 2 to my monitors and the right side of my headphones is getting a his sound.

Default outs for most DAWs is USB channels 1 and 2. Those go to Output 1, not Output 2. You have to send the DAW output to USB outputs 3 and 4 for them to go to Output 2, but then you won't get output to your headphones. Copying Output 1 to Output 2 does not include USB monitoring.

To use both, you'll need to create an additional send in your DAW so the output goes to both 1/2 and 3/4. You can mute either output pair as needed as you switch between monitors and headphones.

Stating the obvious here but you got OUT 2 block on your grid? and OUT 2 knob turned up?
Turned up - yes. On my grid - no. DOH!

I've got the above routing setup and working in my DAW.

However, I can't have system sound (i.e. youtube) playing from Out 1 & 2 at the same time. I can only "Configure Speaker" for one or the other at a time. Is there a way to do this?

Not possible on Windows. When in stereo output mode, system audio will always use Outputs 1 and 2, which only go to Output 1. Windows can access the other channels in Quad, 5.1, or 7.1 surround mode, but there is no meaningful way to control or mix between them. Stereo output from say YouTube will still just be sent to the main stereo outputs. System audio is pretty limited in Windows.

DAWs have their own audio engines and are much more capable. They can use ASIO drivers and give you full access to all input and output channels as needed.

Just set you windows sound output to your Axefx to hear YouTube. You can do it in both the DAW/App and on windows 11.

I'm on a Mac. I am able to change the output by configuring the speaker output. It's not bad but I would love a more seamless method.
