Silly question, but would there be any value to using the Switch 1/2 connected to the pedal 1/2 on the Axe-FX or is it that you can pretty much do anything you could do via the switches via MIDI?

But . . . would it not give you 1-2 more options in the external controllers section?

Based on memory--

It depends on how many events you want to 'trigger' with a button push. There is a limit of 5 messages sent at one time -including CC, PC, and Note commands. If you use the UNO chip it's 4. So, yes you could utilize the S1 and S2 as external controllers into the Axe which theoretically add 2 more events. If you need that level of control you're likely to need a more advanced controller. I just upgraded to a Liquid Foot midi and it handles so many events its not even funny.

additionally, via the I/O menu, Pedal page, they can be assigned to "Preset Incr" and "Preset Decr", whereas you aren't able to assign a MIDI CC to those functions.
