Favorite IRs for chime fender cleans?

I have been using the YA DXVB 1x12 IRs quite a bit and they are great, but I am wondering if there are others I should try out.
YA FTWN 212 D120, for example?
What's your go to IR for cleans?

The Wiki's Amplifier models list and Cabinet models list are my starting point. Look up amps you want to emulate in the first link, such as the Twin or Bandmaster, note the cabinet type or factory IR, then look it up in the second link for various flavors of the factory IRs.

Also, don't overlook the factory or Fractal Dyna-Cab packs because there are great sounding cabs that'll work with cleans.

Additionally, look at the factory presets as there are a number of amp+cab choices that work really well for cleans.

IMO, "clean" is tied mostly to the Amp block settings, especially how you're driving the amp, and the speaker/IR is coloring that sound a little. You can get great cleans from the "metal" amps by turning down the Amp block's settings. At that point pin the IR picker and start scrolling through them until you find what you're looking for.

As for specific "brands" of speakers, look into JBL and EV-12ML as they're known for extended range sound which will be captured by the IR. The (Robben) Ford preset for the Rumble amp with the EV-ish IRs or Dyna-Cabs are a great combination; See #38, "ODS-100", in the factory presets.

Thanks for the detailed post Greg. I should have stated that I am wanting to purchase IRs so that I can load them into CabLab and make my own mixdown to a single IR that I use for all my cleans. CPU usage is my main concern here and that rules out the DynaCabs and any Factory IRs where I can't buy the originals.

If you're buying IR packs, then Fractal's Dyna-Cab packs are worth looking into. Using Cab-Lab 4 we can tune a cab to sound how we want, then export the resulting IR to the modeler just as we would with a regular user cab. At that point there's no possibility of an added CPU %.

I have thousands of IRs from many different IR vendors over the years spinning on my disk, and I'll just work with the internal IRs and Dyna-Cabs and external Dyna-Cab packs because it's such a hassle trying to identify a particular file on the disk.

I didn't realize that! I do like playing with the Dyna Cabs, but I don't have the CPU to use them. If I can make my own IRs outta them, that sounds like a win.

Now my question is: which DynaCab pack nails the Fender Clean tone the best?

Remember, it's not the speaker or IR that makes an amp's clean tone, it's the amp, or Amp block's, settings. On the modeler we can tell the Amp block to emulate the effect of a heavily pushed speaker using the controls in the Speaker tab.

The IR acts like a filter, adjusting the output of the Amp block, so there are minor changes to the overall sound, but distortion isn't added unless you use the Cab block's Preamp controls to add Drive and/or Saturation.

Look at the factory presets for the Twin, Bandmaster and other Fender amps that were designed for a clean sound, and see how the Amp and Cab blocks are configured. And, if you like something, copy the block or channel, and paste it into one of your own presets and go from there.
