Favorite IR(s)

I've actually been experimenting with brighter IR's lately to tighten the low end. I feeling like amp controls, cab cuts, and guitar volume respond better and I can set the amp closer to what I would in real life.
I'm currently gigging with Ownhammer FMAN V30M+V25M-57-01 and then high cutting to where I see fit at the venue with the global EQ.
I've also set up presets using the Ownhammer HHC Zilla 2x12 using V30+M25-57-02. I typically have used the "05" versions of these cabs which are darker and have more low end/low mids.
I've messed with DynaCabs again also. I still really like the EVH 2x12 with dynamic 1 and using the default position and between 0 and 2 distance. Also the 1960TV with a ribbon at position 6 and around 18 distance. I did an outdoor gig over with summer at a minor league baseball stadium using the DynaCab EVH 2x12 at default position and distance and it sounded great with the Friedman amps. YMMV. I play mainly rock, hard rock, 80's hair, 90's alt. Basically most stuff 70's to current rock/hard rock/90's-00's alt/90's grunge/2000's pop punk.

I use these IRs for a Van Halen Tribute project.
^^ I'm curious exactly which IRs and mix you use for this ^^

And do you have the York Audio Kerry Wright/Scott Henderson pack ?

I'm curious what your thoughts would be for those in a V.H. context ?

The first 2 are my Celestion IRs, the 2nd 2 are York Audio. Still working on it. I'm going to mess with the levels the next change I get.

This is for my early VH tone. I'll post the Hagar one later tonight if I get a chance.

Finding an IR that I really like is like finding a specific grain of sand on the beach. I can't stand 99.99% of all the IRs that I've tried.

The characteristics I look for are wide bandwidth and minimal comb filtering, especially with distortion tones. Something that sounds up front, balanced, and clear. I haven't found a single one that fits the bill within the unit. And I've bought packs, only to immediately wish I could get a refund after listening to each one.

Smoothing radically increases potential candidates, but I can't bring smoothed IRs into the FM9 without a major headache that just isn't practical considering my time constraints. So for my touring gigs, I can't rely on any IR that needs smoothing.

I'm open to recommendations for IRs that don't sound excessively comb filtered, assuming they aren't too expensive.
Same here, I just hate 99% of the irs I’ve tried or bought.

But I’ve fi ally found some that fits my needs.
I’m a plexi guy and aim for rock tones. I’ve found the holy grail with the solodallas pack. They are the ones that are the most natural and « alive » for me.

I made a topic about it in the ir section of the forum.
