Factory input gain?

what is the factory setting for input gain. I think mine is at +6db, does that sound correct?

yes. but you should set it to what your guitar requires. the factory setting for Input Pad is not "correct" because they can't set it for everyone's guitar.

I think if its a "Pad" its actually -6db, isnt it?

The pad is +6 dB as it lowers/pads the input signal by 6 dB.

This is clearly explained in axefxtutorials.com intro to the AX8 video, which explains a lot to newbies. Well worth the small investment, even for an Axe II veteran like me.
