Wish Expression pedal percentage view on screen

The whole point is...

This person created a wish request for an expression pedal to display its value on screen. Pretty simple request right?

They are greeted with... a known situation called an “X/Y problem." And... I use my pinky on my volume knob.

Great! Does that display the value of your expression pedal on-screen?

Now they're being called a snotnose punk, because they went to sleep?

FTW!!!

And +1 on this request.
This was requested and has been implemented on some other modelers such as the Helix and even can be displayed on a few of the cheapo modelers out there, so it's not exactly a far-out absurd request, imo

Not even remotely, my friend.

The only thing absurd was what you were greeted with over a clear, simple and valid request.

Only thing I would add is... I'd be fine with it being the 0-127 MIDI value, or the percentage.

Great idea... and welcome to Fractalland! Don't let the occasional smell of unsolicited arrogance bring you down. You seem well able for it, though.

Cheers

Simple to request, yes. Simple to implement? That’s an entirely different question.

It’s not something that is likely to happen immediately as there is a long list of previously requested changes to the interface and display, so working with the existing tools is a better tactic while waiting for the desired change.

Understanding the underlying problem is important. Failing to do that can spin off in too many directions and waste everyone’s energy.

Which is how guitarists have dealt with this problem on electric guitars since well before modelers and volume pedals existed. It’s a simple and effective technique to have in our bag of tricks.

Also note that there have been multiple posts in this thread suggesting various ways to solve the two problems mentioned, none of which came from your entries.

I had a good laugh at your X/Y problem suggestion, it was incredibly condescending but appreciate the attempt to help. The pinky on the volume knob? I had no idea that fingers could work that way, awesome stuff!
