Hi I am trying to experiment with just a single note to create a Big and fuller sound on it own
what are some ways to achieve this?

Here is what I am doing
fretting one note out of 6 strings while muting all the others
so when I rake across all strings the one fretted note only rings out leaving a nice percussive rhythm effect
 
yeah, kind of a weird thread. i could post a sound example of a single note that would blow your mind, but i'm not sure it's what you're looking for... :)
 
yeah. thing is with axe fx, you can basically de-couple the amp from it's real world volume. what i mean is, you can run a 100w plexi on full tilt, which in real life would stun small animals and loosen your fillings, but with the axe, you can run it at any volume you like. this is a blessing, because it means you can record and play with this tone at bedroom volume, but also a curse, because if you dial in a tone at bedroom volume and then crank it up live, you'll be hearing something significantly different. volume is an important factor to how you perceive sound. the only thing i can say is, if you plan to play live then you should try and dial in your tones at the volume level you'll be playing at. apart from that, it comes down to experience and understanding where the "sweet spot" for different types of amps is in terms of gain settings and eq. and as you gain experience, you learn to "hear" better and you learn what works in different situations. there's no quick fix.
 
Using axe edit within the amp block
I understand this part how to recreate and set it up
1.EQ controls to their mid-point or, “noon” position.

trying to follows the instructions to get a basic rules down and then once I get this down abit I can break them

2.Next, set the gain control to the minimum level necessary to create a clear yet full sound.

Where and what is the gain control called it the Axe edit ?


If your amp doesn’t have a gain setting, that perfectly fine, you can work with just the volume knob.

When they mean just use the volume knob
What is that in the amp block called
is that ether is the master volume,Level knob?




3.After that, play your guitar and increase the volume until the notes and chords start to sound full and round without causing the amp to break up and distort. The aim here is to find a strong, core sound without any fuzz or distortion on top of it (but you can certainly add that later).

This is my end result at the moment
 
oh boy. i think you need to just go through the factory presets. when you find a sound you like, have a look at the amp and see how it's been dialled in. the gain knob is usually the first knob on the left. the master volume is over on the right. it it's on 10 by default, leave it there. the level knob just affects the level and does nothing to change the tone. read the manual. watch as many videos on youtube as you can. perhaps invest in cooper carter's course.

I think you're chasing the wrong target by watching videos about real amps and trying to translate that to the Axe-Fx. It might be useful after you're familiar with the Axe-Fx, but it'll be a really difficult way to learn if you're just starting out with the unit. As Simeon suggested, find some Axe-Fx factory presets you like and look at how the various amp block controls are set. Also, watch videos about the Axe-Fx to get a better idea about what the various "knobs" are in Axe-Edit. Subscribing to Leon Todd's YouTube channel and watching how he goes about creating tones would be a good place to start.

I just started today to look at a few amps from factory presets and just see how their amps blocks are being used
and looking at the axe fix 2 Manuel too to see what is what
