Europe - The Final Countdown, Harmonizer

Hi All,

We're in the throes of putting Europe's The Final Countdown into our set and, now that I've persuaded my fingers they can bend themselves for the solo, I thought I'd look into refining it a little bit. Whether the solo is double tracked or they used a harmonizer, I don't know, but I'm the only guitarist in Total80s so harmonizer it is for me.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a crack at this song and may have some pointers for the harmonizer settings?

All 3rds in B minor (D major) except for one 4th (A-D) in bar 4 beat 4 I think, and again when the part repeats with that beat slightly different:

first time: A-G-F#-D, harmony D-B-A-F#

later: D-A-G-F#, harmony F#-D-B-A

If you wanted to switch to get the 4th, a custom 6-note scale D-E-F#-G-A-B (D major with no C#) would work from that beat (or up to 2 notes earlier) through the entire next measure. Setting up a way to fade the harmony out in the next 2 measures might be of interest. I think that happens on the recording, or else it just gets muted around the beats with the bar scoops.

Thanks for that Bakerman, I'll give that a whirl and see how it comes out.
