You can tell it is not Eric Johnson’s gear because the FC-12 is not sitting on a block of wood.

Funny EJ story, he was playing in town a few years ago and a work colleague was with him at soundcheck. Most people know that EJ is really into tone etc and he decided to try and turn the fuse around in his amp head to see if he could notice a difference. Anyway, the little spring shot out and they spent 20 minutes looking for it which caused the show to start late that night.

I'm not sure anything would change for us...

But given his reputation as one of the ultimate tone chasers who can (allegedly) tell the difference in battery brands in his pedals by ear, it might shut up a lot of tube snobs
