Engl E530 Preamp

Anyone using or used this preamp ? Your thoughts , looking for a single space preamp as an alternative for my Ultra and II. Thanx. FYI the two is worth the hype.
 
I've heard good things about that pre especially for metal. I don't own one though, but if that's what you're looking for, then that can be one way to go. You can also try Dar amps though I'm not sure if its a single rack space.
 
Hi, I used one. A great little pre.... and ideally suited for tight metal, although with no effort at all you can dial in some good crunch and clean tones. The weakest is the clean, but I wasn't too bothered about the clean.

They also go for reasonable prices on eBay, but check out the Engl forum for them too.
