EMU Midi 1X1 Tab does not work for Mac

I'm on 10.01 on Axe and 9.171 For Axe Edit. I ran the EMU Midi 1X1 tab from my USB (the dongle is lit) to the MIDI In and Out of the Axe . I confirmed Midi Channel 1 and Sysex ID 125 on both. The EMU shows up in the Midi In and Out drop down boxes on the Audio/Midi Settings screen of the Axe Edit. I press test at the bottom of the dialog box near the MIDI settings. Nada! Reboot Axe, Mac, and Axe Edit with multiple iterations therein. Research... I changed the Editor Settings to MIDI buffer size 128 and midi delay to 90. I even, on someone's suggestion turned off the send realtime redundant pc settings on the axe within the midi configuration. Midi in light does not light on front of Axe. So, I log the Axe Edit. clearly it is having trouble spraying its data. I'm off to buy another damn interface tomorrow. Can someone please tell me what is working for Mac for these versions? It would be nice to play the guitar without tinkering with this tiny interface.

I could not get the 1x1 TAB to work on my mac either.
I am told there is an older E-Mu 1x1 that does work, however.

I just ordered a $2 interface on eBay which truly appears to be the latter with the E-Mu label peeled off. The seller had a dozen or so for sale. Old inventory? I'll let you know if it works, and where I got it.
 
Ok, so I ran out to GC and picked up a Motu Fastlane. Unfortunately, i got a bad unit and have to return it. So i tried messing with the Emu again. I still cant get it to work but maybe I'm missing something more fundamental. On the Fractal site under Axe-Edit under Firmware version 10.01 or EARLIER, Axe-Edit's SysEx ID must be 00 - 00 - 7D???? How does one do this? When I go to the I/O settings under the Midi tab of the Axe, the sysex id is editable only from 1-125 not hexidecimal. So I googled 125 and sure enough the hex dex code for 125 is 7D. (All smart ass remarks edited/deleted here!)

Also, in mac under the Audio Midi setup, I've created a new device called Fractal Axe. I've input the send and receive channels to 1. I've connected (traced) the input and output to the EMU block's corresponding I/O. I've labeled the sysEx id to 125 (eh hem... - I mean 00-00-7D LOL) . Only difference now in axe edit when i try to connect is instead of seeing EMU 1X1 in the midi in and out drop down box, I see the device labeled Fractal Axe. I assume this is because I've made the connections in the Midi/Audio utility. I think I'm getting somewhere but when i go to test the connection. Again, nada!

Frustrating indead. I'm off the exchange the motu fastlane. I'll see if i can update others if i make any progress. Then again, you all might have this one totally figured out.
 
New Motu Fastlane connected for mac now. I haven't checked all functionality yet but all appears well in axe edit land.

If you are new to midi (like me), remember to set up your axe as a device in the midi audio utility on your mac. Once you do, under the same Midi devices tab, make sure to connect (draw) the input of the axe to the output of the fastlane device and the output of the axe to the input of the fastlane device you created . Also, in Axe Edit under the midi settings be sure to choose the device you named in Mac's audio Midi utility as your midi input and output. And of course, be sure to match the the correct channels and sysex id. I hope that is clear.
 
The EMU Midi 1x1 Tab has worked for me (10.6.x) for several updates and lots of Axe-EDIT use...

But I can't get 10.02 to load with it. Or with my MOTU Micro Express, which also always works...

My MFC-101 is sitting there unused, mocking me, as I try sysex program after sysex program...
