eBay (Australia) has turned to crap!

(Rant on)
Does anyone else have nothing but trouble with eBay now?

Point in case… I needed a case for my drone, so I ordered and paid for one… a few weeks later, still no case… I got a refund. I then immediately ordered and paid for the same case from another seller…. A couple of weeks go by no case. Mysteriously the tracking number they gave said “Pending”…. I complained, they said “Must have got lost in shipping, we will send another one.”. They gave me another tracking number, and it’s been a couple more weeks and the Aussie post tracking site says “Pending”… (Ie the seller has said they are sending something, but it hasn’t yet been lodged).

This is just one example, and without ringfencing the culprits, I seem to have trouble from Chinese sellers… it’s a crap shoot. I get what I ordered about 50% of the time. The rest, it either doesn’t arrive and I have to fight for a refund (how about we give you 15% discount? NO. How bout 20% discount? NO- GIVE ME A REFUND YOU HAVENT SENT THE ITEM!!…

it’s doing my head in. eBay used to be ok… now it’s turning to crap.

eBay (Everywhere) has ALWAYS been shite to me.

They withheld thousands of HEARTBREAKING dollars/euros in 2008 from me... just as the world went to shit(e).

Never forgotten. Never forgiven.

Never again.

Fuck'em!

I have no problems with eBay.com.au (or amazon.com.au) but I may well use it a bit differently. I like the fact that eBay (and Amazon) will pretty much force return policies and shipping guarantees. Some sellers don't permit returns but when buying the same thing bought through eBay they will always permit returns. I don't look at random stuff though, I look for a particular brand and product and I buy that brand and that product, never a cheap knockoff hoping it'll be decent enough. I will pretty much always buy from local Australian companies that are using eBay as a selling tool. So yeah, it's been working well for me.

I used EBay a hell of a lot back in the day. Barely used it in years now, maybe a couple of time. I have found it to be mostly trash now.

I’m in the US, and it’s good as long as you’re careful to watch the seller’s history and rating. I tend to stay with 99% and up sellers with a good and lengthy history. I’ve been on EBay since 1998, and have over a thousand sell or buy transactions, with only a very few issues.

Sounds like Australia’s proximity to China makes trading a lot dicier!
