Dry track recording

Hi guys, I have an quite obvious question, but I want to ask anyway.
Well I am going to record and intrumental sound, I need a high gain sound, but sometimes with a fixed wah in some sorts of the songs.

And I dont have the MFC 101 controller.

So is it possible to do a dry track recording, then split the track where I want to change my sound and invidually tweak certain different parts? They need different sound..
 
In your daw create an automation track that transmits MIDI to the axefx assign the values acordingly to your patch. Reamp and now you should have complete control when effects kick in or you can use automation for a pedal up/down. No need to split the track up. Hope this helps.
