DIY FRFR similar to xitone

I saw this article yesterday
http://www.eminence.com/great-uses-for-coaxial-products/

It got me really thinking $150 for the speakers, and crossovers, all it needs is a cabinet, and there are plans from eminence. Today I was looking at the xitone website, and these are the exact same speakers that they use, and I have heard a lot of good things about them. Just wanted to share the information. This might also work if you have an old 1x12 cab sealed back cab, just put it in, and there you go!!!

You’d also need the power amp for it, not to mention the ability to cut the materials and assemble it.

If you’ve got a wood shop one could probably do a pretty good DIY, but I think most just don’t have way to cut all the pieces etc, so probably happy to pay Mick for doing all the work

I agree it is not for everyone, and buying the completed system is very nice. But if you are like me, and you just bought your axe fx, or ax8, and don't have the budget this is not a bad option. I'm looking for a beat up 1x12 cab to throw this in, and run it off an old stereo receiver I have until I can save up a bit more, and buy something proper. I think this is better than spending the same amount on something like a behringer monitor.

I have two very high quality Beyma coaxial speakers here if anyone wants to purchase them for a project like this of the highest quality. Check out the specs. Crossovers included! These are so good they could be used for studio monitors. I bought two pairs and never used this set.

Retail value $1000 for the pair. Make me an offer I can't refuse and they're yours.

I am also going the DIY route with 'FRFR', however, I am not building cabs from scratch. I bought 2 1x12 cabs and 2 coaxial speakers. I have a Matrix GT1000FX for a power amp, so no need for power amps in the cabs.

Here are the parts I'm waiting on:
Speakers - https://www.fane-international.com/view-product/SOVEREIGN-12-250TC#tab-1
Cabinets - http://www.palmer-germany.com/mi/en...12-B-1-x-12-Empty-Guitar-Cabinet-PCAB112B.htm

I plan to close up the back of the cab and change the grill to something metal.
Good luck with your build!

Anyone wired up a Beta 10CX and ASD1001... Do you just connect them both to the cross over and hook up the amp? I keep hearing about guys tuning the crossover...
