Happy 2018 everyone!Weeks ago, I posted that I got a Digitech Trio pedal from Sweetwater for $50.
Since then I have had a chance to use it a lot more. Think of it as a looper but instead of spitting back your guitar sound, it creates a drum and bass backing track based on what you played.
Here is a track demo'ing it. When I play the Am - D chords the pedal is listening then hit the single button again and it starts. There is generally a turn around fill after 16 bars but that can change.
There is a knob on the unit that adjusts style. The pedal listens not only for key changes, but also for picking style which it choses for you when making the beat. You can reach down and change this on the fly. Lower numbers are not as driving as you can image. At 5:21 of the recording I change from 4 to 2 which makes the jam a bit more interesting. Later I bring it up to 5 to making a driving finish.
I am making all this live with only an acoustic guitar and microphone.
