Digital Hookup - Ultra <> iMac

Experienced
So, I'd like to use the digital I/O on the Axe-Fx Ultra and my iMac.

The Axe has RCA coax ports, and the iMac has 3.5MM optical...

If anyone's successfully made this connection, I'd appreciate any advice as to the appropriate cabling and adapters.

I've been guessing and netsurfing and came up with this:

M-Audio CO2 - Coaxial/Optical Bi-Directional Converter

2 Toslink to 3.5mm Optical Plug cables

2 RCA <> RCA digital coax cables

which looks like it would do the deed, but seems a bit complex and pricey.

If anyone has a simpler, better, cheaper solution, especially one that they've actually used and proved, then please clue me in.

TIA

Rat Shack Adapter

I think this is it. It had been a few years.

I've seen that one. It's $19.99 now. It must have been a few years...

From reading the description it adapts the RCA coax from the Axe-Fx output to the Toslink required for the iMac input.

It doesn't do anything for the iMac > Axe-Fx connection though.

There's a Cables To Go Optical-Coax-Digital Audio Converter too that handles that direction, but by the time I've
bought two adapters along with the cables it's almost as expensive, plus there's two power supplies to deal with instead of one...

Thanks, though.

It's good to hear that it's possible to make the digital connection.
