Definition of "Fractal"

According to the book "The Shack",(page 131), "A fractal .....something considered simple and orderly that is actually composed of repeated patterns no matter how magnified. A fractal is almost infinitely complex. I love fractals so I put them everywhere." When I read that I thought how true..simple and complex. And they are everywhere around the globe. Gotta love this company!
