Curious about the exclusion of impedance control

Just curious, not a criticism. Searched as best I could but came up with nothing.

Do we know why the variable impedance option was not included in the FM3?

I still get along with the fuzz pedals in the FM3, but the tweaker in me kind of wished I could adjust the impedance like in the Axe Fx III.

Requires additional hardware circuitry. So maybe a cost thing.

I was searching exactly for this. I'd like to hear the differences of a fuzz block between FM3 and Axe-FX III or, at least, some opinions about users that have both the units, to make a comparison and have a better idea.
Honestly I've never found the fuzz models very realistic. I'm not talking about FAS but in general, in every modeler I've tested.
Usually it's better to put a real fuzz pedal in front of the unit, in my experience.
But, still, my curiosity about the comparison remains.
