Couple of questions regarding hearing loss and new monitors.

Interesting thing.

I just gifted myself a set of Equator Audio D8's for my gift to myself. I love me =)

First question. Breaking in speakers. Is there a proper way to do this?

Second question, I upgraded from a set of Bx8a's. First thing that I noticed was that when I turned off everything, it felt like I was just in a room with a very loud amp. My ears felt tired. I had these at pretty low volume and it made me wonder why this is happening?

Breaking in speakers = snake oil
Jay Mitchell explained this over and over again that he thoroughly tested and measured this.

My first pair of monitors was M-Audio BX5A and it wasn't until I upgraded to my JBL's that I noticed how my ears don't fatigue like they used to with the older monitors. I'd be cautious - gotta protect those ears so you can enjoy music.
