Could there ever be amp packs?

Would a firmware update be able to do this, or another piece of hardware that can be added (probably a one-space rack unit)?
 
Cliff adds amps as he finds ones that are unique and or add something that is not currently available, and they come along with firmware updates.
 
Yes there are amp packs, but not in the pure sense that you describe. As far as new amp models, these are, as the previous posters related, available as new firmware versions are released. But, there are companies like Choptones that hot-rod existing amp models to come up with cool variations of amp models and tones. You might also want to check out some of the preset packs like Yek's presets and the Fremen presets. You can get a huge pallet of cool tones or just go on Axe-Change, to download and audition. Also, some of the cab packs are routinely being released with presets that optimize the tone of the IRs.
 
They're free and added when the chance arises. There's a few amps that are in the pipeline, going by Cliff's notes over the past months.
