These songs use a bank of patches progressing from clean to dirty using a crystals algorithm in parallel which I fade in with an expression pedal for faux synth effects behind the guitar. On some of the cleaner patches I fade in some flange at the same time.
I used to fade in strings with a guitar synth for these songs, and these patches have allowed me to ditch the synth.
I'll spare the litany of excuses for the less than stellar playing. was pretty spastic since it was our first time in this bar with a house sound guy. Not my best night, 'nuff said. But the patches are pretty cool and help fill the room. We're a 3-piece with a frontman so I'm always looking for ways to fill space.
