Controlling multiple units?

I'm not certain that this is the proper forum, but it seems to fit as well as any...

Am I correct in thinking that one could control multiple Axe-FX units with a single MFC? As long as you echoed MIDI on all channels?

For example, MFC into Axe 1 (control method unimportant, but let's say FASlink). Then MIDI out of Axe 1 into MIDI in of Axe 2, repeat for each Axe X?

Obviously the feedback to the MFC would be limited to Axe 1, but all 'events' would be globally broadcast...would they not?

The hypothetical here is, two identical units - same patches - but one with global cabs 'off'. MFC to 'cabs off' unit (driving stage), strapped to 'cabs on' unit (driving house). And yes, I know there are simpler (or perhaps less expensive, anyway) methods to do this particular thing. Just thinking aloud.

Yes, you can do this. It is often done for redundancy on a pro tour.

Recognize that only the first Axe-Fx will be communicating back to the MFC in the context of "AXE FX MODE".

Some people doing this switch the MFC out of Axe-Fx mode and configure everything manually.
