Computer Sounds like a Ring Mod thru Axe-FX II

What preset are you on? You might be using too much Axe CPU to run the preset and USB through at the same time. Happens on high CPU presets.
 
Thanks man, but it is definitely not the preset, I know that sound well ;-)

It only affected the sound coming from the Macs, all local sounds from te Axe-FX were fine.

So if I was trying to jam to a backing track of say "Dorothy the Dinosour" by the wiggles, it would sound more like "Metal Machine Music" by Lou Reed.
 
New Cable and it works fine now.

Will have to see about the pops and clicks..... did have some, but am now trying the Aggregate device proposed solution to see if that fixes the issue of the pops and clicks.

just happy that it was only a crappy USB cable that caused the rigmod sounds

This is not in the DAW, it is an issue when using the Axe-FX as a sound card.... There is nowhere to change the buffer or sample rate that I can see in the driver system prefs We have been reporting this issue since the axe-fx II was released, it is an acknowledged issue that Factal say is a problem with the drivers that apple supply ... And apple will not help Fractal in fixing the issue.
