Compressor Help

In my chain I`m using matchless DC30 Ch2. Using the neck hum bucker I can hear the definition that I want. But when I put a compressor in chain I lost that definition.

I don know if it is because my lack of skill in compressors (probably is), but I need help to find a config that give me that definition in sound of neck hum bucker. You can help me?
 
What are you trying to accomplish by adding the compressor? That will dictate the settings, and possibly the solution to the problem it’s creating.

For example, if you’re just looking for more sustain, you can try increasing the attack time to allow more of the pick/transients through, which may give the ‘definition’ you seek.

That said, is the compressor before the amp block?
