Any ideas on this tone recipe? 1:57ish

neck pickup, high on the fretboard. reminds me of a smoother fuzz tone like "American Woman" but the thickness of the strings i think is the primary thing that makes that tone.

Picked up guitar to learn One Last Breath by Creed...found Collective Soul and the rest is history, I was hooked!

Actually- try this... make it sound better

Even if you nailed the tone perfectly- if you made it sound better than the recording I think the audience would like it better than putting a kind of off sound on a solo.

I'm not familiar/never heard of that song and I'm pretty good with 90s music-

But... guitar players like pleasing themselves and guitar players- and rarely think of the audience- so- you know- make it better
