Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the master thread for Cherry Sun Sounds IR's.

Each shot was taken on various points of the speaker in a pseudo DynaCab™ fashion and how I go about micing cabs in the studio. I fine tune the low end to my taste with the distance from the speaker, then File Numbers 01, 02, 03...etc. are the microphones speaker position from the cone to edge for high end brightest to darkest.

For the “Standard Ribbon/Dynamic Mic Combo” use a “…07.wav” file mixed with the “…CLOSE_CENTER.wav” of the Ribbon Mic captures. The “…CLOSE_CENTER.wav” captures are centered on the cone and real close to the grill cloth using the Royer™ AxeMount™ Dual Microphone Clip.

The “Room” captures are at ear height sitting in a chair about 6-8 feet away depending on the cab. Panned left and right is a nice room effect.

Dynamic:
57m - Based on a modified modern Shure™ SM57
UIII - Based on a vintage Shure® Unidyne III SM57
M88 - Based on Beyerdynamic™ M88

Ribbon:
121 - Based on a Royer™ R-121 (added only to packs 3,4, and 6 listed below and on all future releases)
VR2 - Based on sE Electronics™ VR2 (If it's good enough for John Petrucci, it's good enough for me)

Condenser:
CC8 - Based on Austrian Audio™ CC8

All captures are 24bit 500ms MPT (Minimum Phase Transformed)

Attached are 2 of the 3 Room Mic captures from the 2x12 RCTO pack and an AxeFx III preset and IR from the Decennium 1x8 Cab Pack used on guitar and bass in the video below.



For those that grabbed the now defunct free packs I posted in the "User Cabs and IR's" forum, these are identical except I have added 121 and Room files for the RCTO V30 2x12, Prince GA64 1x12, and Prince Blackhawk A 1x12 Packs. Sounds like everyone has been enjoying them. I will continue to post test files and other freebies occasionally of what I am working on.

Cliff has Impedance Curves for a few of these cabs now, hopefully they make it into a future Firmware release soon...

2. 67 Band Utah 2x12 is based on a 1967 Fender™ Bandmaster™ 2x12 Cabinet with 2 1970 Utah™ Speakers. The Orange Label “In Utero Speakers”

3. Prince GA64 1x12 is based on a Fender™ Princeton Reverb™ with the speaker baffle recut to house a 12” speaker. This one is loaded with an Eminence™ GA-SC64™ 12” George Alessandro™ Speaker.

4. Prince Blackhawk A 1x12 is based on a Fender™ Princeton Reverb™ with the speaker baffle recut to house a 12” speaker. This one is loaded with a Warehouse Guitar Speakers™ Blackhawk Alnico™ 12” Speaker. A favofite combination of Ben McLeod of All Them Witches.

5. Prince Utah 1x12 is based on a Fender™ Princeton Reverb™ with the speaker baffle recut to house a 12” speaker. This one is loaded with a 1970 Utah™ Speakers. The Orange Label “In Utero Speakers”

6. RCTO V30 2x12 is based on a Mesa Boogie™ Rectifier Cabinet™ loaded with a “Holy Grail UK Made T3445” 70w Celestion Vintage 30™ Speakers.

7. 1695T 1x12 is based on a Supro™ Black Magick Reverb loaded with their BD12™ (Made by Eminence) Speaker.

8. 57m Vol.1 - A compilation of 1 57m capture from packs 1-7 listed above.

9. Pano 1x10/1x15 is based on a Fender™ Pano Verb™. Both the 10” and 15” speakers were captured with all the mics.

10. RCTO G12M 2x12 is based on a Mesa Boogie™ Rectifier Cabinet™ loaded with 1998 UK made Celestion™ T1220 Greenback Speakers featuring the “6402” cones.

Introducing The Cherry Sun Sounds Pano 1x10/1x15 Cab Pack, based on a Fender™ Pano Verb™. Both the 10” and 15” speakers were captured with all the mics. The Room captures are how the mix of both speakers sound in the room together.

A Pano Verb patch attached I made with all the pieces of the Pano Verb™ circuit. A clean boost into the 1964 Vibroverb™ model, the Vibro-King™ Spring Reverb, and the Harmonic Tremolo. Scenes with all the Clean/Full/Split Reverb/Mono Harmonic Tremolo and Clean Stereo/Full/Split Reverb/Stereo Harmonic Tremolo options. If the Boost is a little harsh or muddy for your guitar, adjust the Lo Cut or High Cut in the Filter Block. I used a Filter Block since it's a clean boost on the real amp. Turn up or down the Level control for the boost amount. The Vol/Pan Block at the end is just to sum the stereo Cabs to mono at the end for the "Mono" Scenes. Don't forget to use the "Ideal Tab" in the Amp Block for access to the Middle control.

Ok, I've somehow missed this thread until now, but you've got some really cool speakers and cabs done here. The Panoverb, the Blackhawk, the Utahs... good stuff. I'll definitely give these a go.

I really don't need another amp, but the Panoverb is really cool. I gotta give that one a try in person- definitely piqued my curiosity.

I'm glad you like my offerings so far. I appreciate the support. I would love to hear what you think of them. All feedback is helpful and appreciated.

The Pano Verb is killer (and a back killer, haha). There is a ton of low end in the room from that 15" speaker. Definitely check one out if you have the opportunity. I've been tempted to clone the speaker cab measurements/portion as another cab to play through at home or for stage volume live with the AxeFx III going direct.

Sounds great blended with the RCTO V30 2x12 pack. Nice complimenting speakers, I can see why Friedman, Bogner, et al. use this combination in their cabs.
