Update, I purchased 3 small trimmer pots for this experiment.
So, I'm getting closer to trying it out.
And last night I broke out the LP with SD Saturday Night Specials in it.
I am enjoying those pickups!
My plan it to try the trimmer pot on the bridge pickup in my tele.
That has SD Five-Two in it.
