CC via external MIDI In?

According to the MIDI implementation chart for the MFC-101, it will transmit CC but shows it does *not* receive CC message. However, the remarks in the chart refer to the IA switches only, so it's unclear to me from that part of the documentation.

I'm curious if I can pass CC messages via MIDI in on the MFC, and have it transmitted over the expansion/ethernet to the Axe - in essence the MFC acting as a "thru" for those external MIDI CC's.

I plan to test for myself this evening, but wanted to fire this off in case anyone reading knew definitively.

AFAIK there can only one of both connections (Cat and MIDI) be active at the same time.
