I'm using firmware 3.05 & was going to load 3.08 but I can't get a dump from the MFC. I first tried MFC-Edit but when I initiate the data dump from the MFC, MFC-Edit doesn't receive anything. Then I tried Fractal Bot & successfully received a dump, 138k in size.
At that point I decided to try and transmit the syx file back to the MFC with both the editor and Fractal Bot. Fractal Bot said the file was not from a MKII, the editor gave me an "epic fail" error box stating basically the same thing.
I've tried changing USB ports with no luck. I also uninstalled / reinstalled the driver for the MIDI-to-USB interface, an M-Audio MidiSport.
I also did a factory reset but it didn't make a difference.
Also, just as a test, I was able to successfully re-transmit the existing 3.05 firmware.
Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
