Can you have reveal, only reveal IA for the top 4 presets?

Unfortunately, you can't do that at the moment. I have added to the wishlist to have two customisable footswitch layouts per preset, which would allow you to do this, but it has not been implemented.

This frustrates me as the options for layout seems like the most glaring weakness to me. Each their own, but more effort put into this area would be welcomed.
 
The footswitch page in AX8 Edit allows you to assign any of the 8 buttons to be instant access or select another preset as long as it's in the same bank. Maybe I'm not understanding but this seems to do what you want OP?
